VoiceThread is a fabulous and free digital storytelling tool for any classroom. Students (with assistance as needed) can create stories using pictures and sound. This activity can be modified to work with any student. I created a voicethread with a student who uses a MiniMo to communicate at the single word level. The student chose the photos and sound clips to correspond with his written work. Audio clips can be recorded directly onto each slide in the voicethread. However, my student recorded his answers to the sentence prompts using Audacity because of it's editing capabilities. Samples of the student work can be emailed to parents or posted on a class wiki. What a great tool!
